The Brazos Banditos was started in 2003 by Caliche Clay (Jason Ramirez) uniting a few Aggies who had a love of the old west, and a passion for acting. Getting our start at College Station’s Tombstone Texas Dinner Theatre, we branched out and provided small comedy entertainment for local parties, corporate events, and local heritage festivals.

The group expanded its cast to over 25 members, but holds a core group of 5 actors. The Brazos Banditos are members of the Re-enactment Guild of America whose dedication is to the preservation of and education regarding the History of America’s 19th Century, primarily but not restricted to the American Old West.

The Banditos have also provided outlaws, cowboys, gunslingers, and lawmen for movies such as the Platinum Peacemaker and Six Gun. We have also posed as old west models for Western Artists such as Doug Prine and Dane Ellsworth.

What makes the Brazos Banditos different from other old west entertainers is the unique plethora of talents the group collectively holds. Jason Ramirez is a bullwhip artist and gun spinner trained by the National Champion bullwhip artist and trick roper, Robert Duke. Joshua M. Kutach, Will Jenkins, and Jason Ramirez have extensively studied Theatre Arts at Texas A&M University. Taylor Tomlin is 15 year veteran re-enactor, and an accomplished historian wrapping up a degree in History from Texas A&M University. Stage combat, martial arts, fencing, horsemanship, and many other talents lay in our strongbox, but above all we have showmanship.
Since our humble beginnings, the Brazos Banditos have earned numerous awards for authenticity in costuming, humorous shows, acting, authenticity in a gunfight portrayal, and most recently, the Re-enactment Guild of America’s Mid-West National Championship Gunfighters.
